A winner was crowned: And it was all Good

The lure of the Hotlanta for an entire weekend helped seal the deal for Good 2 Go as they became the Specialty Bracket Dallas Taco Champions last night.

After a slow start out of the gate, a major two-day push by their fans helped fuel the tiny gas station establishment and their waffle batter fried Hotlanta past the brisket tacos at Taco Joint and into the record books as the first ever Dallas specialty taco champion.

My real job has prevented me from having any free time to create the winner’s certificates, but I assure you they’re on their way.

In the mean time, you’re probably wondering what’s next? Well besides creating a new food bracket (burgers anyone?), I’m also going to do my best to keep all you fine Taco Heads informed on new or hidden gems in the area for great eats. I’ve already got a couple places on my radar for this weekend (Pecan Lodge and The Dive) to try out and don’t think I haven’t forgotten about a certain taco crawl (does anything really beat a cold Corona or Pacifico and a taco on a 103 degree day?)

For now, congratulations to Good 2 Go Taco – your support of the bracket didn’t go unnoticed and clearly neither did your tacos.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a championship without a victory song, right? So how about a little 80s and Joe Esposito.
